Why I became a volunteer

Paul - Volunteer Driver for 6.5 years

Even though I had been donating to charities for years, I kept thinking to myself that one day I would like to do some active charity work, perhaps when I had more time or retired.

When it became clear with my busy life and a young family, it was very unlikely I would ever had more time, I decided – why wait!  If you have ever been in “dire straits” and somebody lent you a hand you will know the immense feeling of relief that that can give you.  I have discovered that helping other people who are going through a tough time and providing some relief for them gives me a similar warm glow of knowing I have made a difference in someone’s life, even if it is in a very small way.

If you have thought about helping out – don’t wait, today is the right day to get started.
